I went to this Laurent Bernard Cafe with my girlfriend on one Saturday afternoon as we were looking out for a place to have good dessert.  Laurent’s Cafe was formerly known as The Chocolate Factory, and they have 2 branches in Singapore, one is at Portsdown Road and another at The Pier.

We went to the one at The Pier. The ambience is nice, calm and serene in the afternoon. Just a nice place to relax, hang out and chit chat. Most importantly, the dessert…. the mouth watering desserts ~

We ordered the chocolate souffle. We could smell the freshly baked smell from the oven when the souffle is served!!!! Look at the photo below. It is YUMMY. The smell of it, the heavenly, rich, chocolate taste as you bite into it….. HHhhmmmmmm~ heaven.

We didn’t order any drinks on that day, just had plain water. The Chocolate Souffle comes with a scope of sherbet as well. I LOVE THE sherbet.

Lovely, isn’t it.. It costs us around $20 after tax.. It’s definitely worth the try.  I am keen to try some other desserts that they have. It really looks good! Too bad we could not eat much as only two of us went.

On the first day, everyone is excited about the trip to Kota Kinabalu. We woke up early in the morning and head to the airport to catch our plane. We are flying off with JetStar, departure time is 7.20am. We reached Kota Kinabalu at 9.20am, and we head directly to our backpackers’ lodge, North Borneo Cabin.

We start unpacking some of our stuff, took our bath, and a friend of ML is coming over to join us for lunch. We went to have lunch at a place nearby, and we ordered this 3 colored drink.

The drink is actually Teh Peng (Ice Tea) and it tastes good. The top layer is the tea, second layer (white layer) is the milk, and the last layer tastes like wheat grass with gula Melaka.
