I registered for the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2009 after I saw them promoting the run in one of the roadshows in Singapore.
It is just a 10km run, so I thought, why not? This run is quite different from other marathons, I would say. By participating in this run, we are giving a message of encouragement to the ex-offenders to pick themselves up after having fallen down. It is a project organized by Yellow Ribbon community, to encourage the society to give the ex-offenders a second chance. That’s very nice of them to organize this run, as many other marathons are just.. marathons.
We collected the race pack one week before the run. Actually I totally forgotten about the race until I receive an email reminder from Yellow Ribbon to collect the race pack. I was so so busy with work that I didn’t put it in my mind the run is just around the corner. Oh well, I collected the race pack, and here’s the T-Shirt! I think the Prison Run T-shirt is pretty nice =)

2 days after I collected the race pack, I look through the items in the pack again, my numbers, brochures, etc.. then I saw “Eh.. 6th Sept..”.. The leaflet wrote “6 September, Sunday. Guest of Honour Mr Teo Chee Hean”.. I was like “opss… 6 Sept is this weekend”. Then I went to look into the website and OMG.. the run is this Sunday and I am so so unprepared!! I went for a run on Wed, which is a day after I realized the run is the coming weekend. I was tight up with work after that and don’t have time to run anymore.
However, I do look forward for the run though none of my friends are joining me for the run this round. I bet it’s going to be a fun one =)

I thought this was for ex-prisoners. You also ran means.. :O
yeah I was about to be imprisoned for stabbing a guy named Raj aka Septic Sceptic, but later they found out that I did it in defence mood. That guy was about to kill me with an axe! =p
WHAT!! You didn’t get arrested for stabbing someone whose identity you weren’t sure of?? This is ridiculous! What is the world coming to?
BTW, was this run a marathon?
I don’t know if this run was categorised as “marathon”… probably not. hehe
